Today’s Magic : a peek at my little notebook

I just updated my “about” section to sound more like me. I’d like to change it often. In it, I mention keeping a little notebook with me at all times so I can write down notes about things I love, books I’m working on, recommendations, inspirations….so I thought I’d share a sample of the kinds of things I’ve written down in the past few weeks. They can be really random, but maybe they’ll inspire you to write/read do something very cool. Oddly, I never usually write dates down in my little notebook. I guess they don’t matter to me. What’s really hilarious? Most of the time when I’m traveling I can’t find my pens. So, I’m frequently a writer in need of a pen when I want to jot something down. Even more hilarious? I can’t write in journals with lines. They bug me. Here goes 🙂

The name of the gal I talked to for two hours on the flight from PDX to LA because we had so many things in common. Turns out she’s always wanted to write. These are the books I suggested she have to start her journey: Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott, On Writing by Stephen King and The Plot Whisperer by Martha Alderson.

For my TBR:

Between Shades of Gray [No…NOT that shades of gray…can you believe this book came out the same year as that OTHER one? Anyway this is a story about WW II.]

Harbinger by Sara Wilson Etienne

Moon Over Manifest by Clare Vanderpool

The name of a great Dermatologist just in case I need one from a lady at the nail salon.

Names that sound cool to me….with lots of alliteration like Bluelarkspur Lane

Gravity Falls I can’t remember who told me that I have to watch this show. I think it has something to do with the Pacific Northwest?

These are some of the things I just could let slide. I had to write them down. What have you been jotting down lately? I’d love to know.
