This Review of 13 on Halloween just in from Ramblings of a Daydreamer! “This book is hilarious. Roxie is definitely an interesting character…I would definitely recommend this book if you’re interested in middle-grade or really young adult fiction, or if you have tween/young teen kids. It’s a fun, funny, totally out-there fantasy, but with a real story .”
Rain Boots Required Tour update: We’ve just put out our first newsletter. Check out The Pacific Northwest YA Authors web site and sign up to find out what events are coming soon!
Savannah was exciting and unexpected. I had my first ever TV interview with the amazing Nichole Chase on the Mid-Morning Live show on WTOC. We’d known each other for a while online but this was the first time we ever met face-to-face and we’ll never forget it:) You can read more about my amazing near-miss with another airplane upon landing in Savannah, and highlights from the morning show here.
We had so many scares along the way. One at The Pirates House and another, super-scare at The Sorrel-Weed House. Three of our Paranormal Plumes had to bale on the tour, something about lollipops! hee-hee, whole other story. Bottom line? That house is filled with spooks and made some of us dizzy and short of breath. Yeah. We got what we came for!
The Plumes is a sisterhood. Ok, a paranormal sisterhood! And I really mean that. After this weekend they feel like family. A very loud, crazy family. With a lot of stories to tell. And the neat part is I feel like I’ve known them forever. We had such a great time together whether it was walking all over Savannah or at our book signing.
And I’d like to thank all the amazing new friends I made along the way: Jay who was on his own spontaneous road trip and is writing a very clever book for kids that I’m sure will be on the best seller list one day, and who also had a birthday at midnight the night that we met, my first night in Charleston. To Richard and his wonderful wife Susan, who had just stepped off their sail boat after six weeks and keep a blog about their adventures, called Sail Gratitude. I’m so excited that I can go on your adventure with you:) I love the name of your boat. I love the names of boats. Susan and Richard and I met at The Old Pink House the second night I was in Savannah. And I guess I had one of the most memorable walks through Savannah on my last night, when I met Frank. I wonder if he’s won his war with the pigeons? It was very hard to say goodbye to Savannah.
