Monday Muse: Oscars, pretty dresses & finding your voice

IMG_0974

So yesterday was the big night. I love movies. I love popcorn. We went to an oscar party last night. But, I didn’t have anything to wear. It had to be a dress. It had to be vintage. It had to be a deal. We had such a blast yesterday searching for just the right dress. Do you ever notice how many bad ones you have to try on before you find the one that’s just right? I guess it’s kind of like that with writing too. I tried on lots of storytelling voices before I found the one that’s uniquely me. It’s funny that being yourself, finding your own voice, is so hard to do as a writer. It seems that should be the easiest thing in the world, doesn’t it?

What inspired you this week?

  1. Nothing inspires me more than a deadline. I have till the end of the month for something and I am pretty sure I will do it. The two months notice wasn’t enough but these last three days will be.
