The biggest gift 2014 gave me is the realization that:
Big dreams are our birthright.
Dream BIG. Believe. Watch what happens.
Another great gift was walking barefoot in the rice paddies.
A very Happy New Year to you, my faithful reader. You’ve stuck with me through thick and thin and now, I’m on the other side. The kind people at WordPress put this snap shot of Laurasmagicday together. I feel so blessed that people from sixty six countries are all on this journey. *raises a glass of champagne* (my absolute favorite drink) A toast to our adventures in 2015! If you like what you read, help to spread the word. I’d like to get my San Francisco cable car trips (see below) up to 100 in 2015! May all your dreams come true…
Here’s an excerpt:
A San Francisco cable car holds 60 people. This blog was viewed about 2,200 times in 2014. If it were a cable car, it would take about 37 trips to carry that many people.
At the carnival this week we are all blogging about resolutions. I talk a little bit about my personal focus for 2013 in my post about beginnings, click here if you want to read more. But as a writer, I feel I need to boost my reading this year. I try to read a lot on my own but kind of miss the experience of sharing what I’ve read with others. So, I’ve joined a couple of reading challenges this year. One is 52 books in 52 weeks. *knees knock* 🙂 I was invited by the author of this article on the Huffington Post and decided to take her up on the challenge, click here to read the article. I’ve got Gone Girl downloaded and it will keep me company on my flight to Florida tomorrow. I’ve also joined a group on goodreads that will have a monthly challenge specifically in the YA genre. So my goal is to read widely and hopefully this will make my writing better and better.
So….what resolutions do you have this year?
See what my fellow writers in the carnival are resolving to accomplish this year. They are an amazing group of authors, so I’m sure you will be inspired! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I don’t usually make Resolutions. Do you? A really great writer and friend of mine Dee White, author of Letters to Leonardo, wrote to me this week and told me that she’s given a title to her 2012, The Year of Possibilities. This inspired me. [go check out Dee’s blog to find out why that’s no surprise, the gal’s full of inspiration!]. I mean, I’m a writer, right? When the resolution boiled down to a title it suddenly didn’t seem so convoluted anymore. So I noodled on it. And here’s my title for 2012:
I unwrapped some pretty amazing presents under the tree this year. Ones that really blew me away. But, this one I can actually SHARE with you:) My daughter recorded 13 ON HALLOWEEN’s Audiobook. So, for the first 12 days of the New Year, if you feel like curling up by the fire and listening to a story, instead of reading one, click here, and I’ll have a new chapter of 13 ON HALLOWEEN up every day starting New Year Day! SQUUEE! HAPPY NEW YEAR! Thanks for your support:) You are why I write!
