Inquiring minds want to know…who won #YaScramble?

L.A.H.E. : Welcome Mindy! Congrats on winning the MASSIVE #YASCRAMBLE giveaway.

Hi Laura!  Thank you so much for the guest post.

L.A.H.E. : What reading recs do you have for us?

My reading recommends?  That’s an easy one!  I could ramble on and on about all the books I love.  I turned 30 this year and I have only been reading for about 10 years.  I seriously struggled with reading in my younger years and my parents had to put me through several reading programs (I highly recommend Sylvan) so I was not a fan reading at all!  It was when I was introduced to Harry Potter that my love for reading started.  When a new Harry Potter book was released you could have found me at the local Barnes and Noble midnight release party, even when I couldn’t find someone to join me.  At that point, I still didn’t read near as much as I do now.  I just couldn’t find something else that held my interest.  It was around September 2008 that I REALLY started reading, when I read Twilight.  After I finished the Twilight series I craved for more!  So I was constantly on goodreads.com looking for more books to read.  So here is my recommend list.

  • Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling
  • Twilight by Stephenie Meye
  • Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
  • Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead
  • The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare
  • Divergent by Veronica Roth
  • The Causal Enchantment by K.A. Tucker
  • Cloud Prophet Trilogy by Megg Jensen
  • Nightshade by Andrea Cremer
  • Bloodlines by Richelle Mead
  • Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins
  • Firelight by Sophie Jordan
  • Wildfire by Karsten Knight

L.A.H.E. We have a lot in common. I came to reading very late too! Loving your list, marking them on my TBR. My folks put me in speed reading classes with the best of intentions, but. alas, it only cuased me to hate reading even more! So, tell us about your hobbies:)

I’m a mommy to 3 crazy boys (1 hubby and 2 little boys ages 6 and 4) and then you can’t forget reading and blogging.  I can easily get addicted to TV series so whenever someone tries to tell me about a show they are watching I have to say, “Don’t tell me about it!  I can’t get addicted to anymore shows or I won’t have time to sleep!”

L. A. H. E. : What’s your go-to movie when you need to get away from it all?

I have WAY too many to count, but one movie that really affected me was A Beautiful Mind.  A family member of mine has a mental illness that has really taken a toll throughout my family and that movie hit so close to home that while sitting in the movie theater I bawled like a little baby throughout the entire movie.  I also love the movie Juno!  That movie is brilliant!  Gotta love all the X-Men and HP movies too!

L.A.H.E. : I cried just reading your answer:) So, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I can’t remember what I wanted to be when I was a kid.  But when I was a teen, I was determined that I would be a probation officer.  I’m not disappointed that I didn’t go in that direction, but I think I might really like that job!

L.A.H.E. : Interesting…now, the million dollar questions:) Do you believe in ghosts?

Heck yes!  I was fascinated by the show Paranormal State.  They are a group of college kids that go to Penn State that investigate paranormal activity.  There is this one episode where one of the investigators was using an Infrared and on both sides of another investigator on a wall were two handprints!  And then only moments later, two light bulbs shattered above their heads.   I also swear that my friend’s parent’s house is haunted.  I’m getting the chills thinking about it right now!

L.A.H.E. : Hi Mindy. This is the ghost you believe in. Eat all the  popcorn you like. There isn’t any on the other side. LOL! Did I say that out loud? My bad. If you could go to dinner with anyone who would it be?

Ahhh…this one is hard.  Probably J.K. Rowling!  Can I pick where we meet?  Can it be at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter?  Mwahahaha!  And that leads to one of your other questions…If I could go anywhere in the world where would it be?  Yeah, I’d say Florida so I could go to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter!

L. A. H. E. What did you wear to prom?

As for what I wore at my prom?  Well I didn’t go to a prom.  I went to a private school in High School so I didn’t have a prom.  And I would have picked my private school over ANY prom, ANY day! I loved my school.  We only had 30 kids in the whole school so everyone, knew everyone!  And everyone loved everyone.  It was like we were one big family!  I probably learned more in my one year of private school than I did in my 10 years of public school so it was TOTALLY worth every penny my parents had to pay.

L.A.H.E. : What’s you most awkward high school moment?

Right before my parents put me in private school I did go to a public school for a very short period of time.  My friends and I were hanging outside during lunch and I had a huge hole in the knee of my jeans.  Well I don’t know how the heck it happened, but I was play fighting with several of my friends and my guy friend grabbed ahold of the hole in my pants and somehow it ripped all the way up the front exposing EVERYTHING…well accept I was wearing underwear.  I was so mad at him!  I think I flipped out in front of the whole school pushing him and screaming at him while my whole front side was open to the world.  Yeah, I’m a Gemini so I can get mean. LoL

So, I think that is it!  Thank you so much Laura for having me as a guest post today!

L.A.H.E. : No thank you! And congratulations:) I hope you enjoy your books!
