YA Indie Carnival: To trailer, or not to trailer?

YES! I trailer, and love it. Trailers are fun, that’s why I like to make them. Some trailers are easier to put together than others. I’m excited about producing TRANSFER STUDENT’s trailer. TRANSFER STUDENT is a sci-fi romance about Ashley, a Beverly Hills High School surfer fahsionista, and Rhoe, a boy geek alien, swapping lives when Rhoe’s teleporting experiment goes wrong. It’s a tricky trailer to put together because it’s hard to find video of teenage aliens. I’ve had people ask me if I can tie books sales to the trailers I make. I can’t. But I do know that making them has been a part of my process as a writer. Just like designing my covers. It’s great to sit back and visually represent a story after working so hard to tell it on paper. The art breathes new life into the words. It’s a little bit of magic. But, how do you put one together? It’s pretty easy. Here’s an article that will help you get you started.

These are the trailers I’ve produced for Winnemucca, a small-town fairy tale & 13 on Halloween, Book 1 in the Teen Halloween series:
