Here’s my teaser from my adult thriller WIP, out this fall:
And in all of Kings County there wasn’t anyone who could identify the mysterious flower except its next victim, a professor from the south. The professor was visiting San Francisco and had been called to the little town of Avenal to identify the body of her murdered colleague. But even as the recently arrived professor felt comforted by the folksiness of the officers around her she also felt more scattered than ever before. More of a target. Because she knew that she was next and she knew that the others on the trip would be next too.
Why? Oh, why didn’t Ronny listen to her. Why didn’t he just put the idol back? Why did he ask Alex to hold it for him? Why hadn’t he called in their coordinates like Alex said? That way they could have come back. That way the secret could have stayed just that, a secret. Secrets save lives in archeology. Ronny never learned that.Â
